GreenBond is an innovative canola-based dust suppressant and binder, made from recycled vegetable oil which is 99.7% organic and 100% safe for humans and animals. Once GreenBond is applied it immediately stops dust from being raised into the air and will penetrate the surface creating a barrier to repel water and prevent erosion.
GreenBond can be applied to all gravel roads, parking lots, schools, airports; anywhere airborne dust forms. Application is one pass and product can be applied next to rivers, lakes and ponds. GreenBond repels water, creates a safe driving environment, limits maintenance, and reduces road erosion.
When dust control products are working well, the fine material in the gravel cannot loosen and dust away. This also means that the stone portion of the gravel will tend to remain embedded in the surface and will not be lost to the edge of the road or even whipped off onto the in slope from heavy traffic. Studies have shown that as much as one ton of aggregate per mile is lost each year for each vehicle that passes over a road daily. This means that a road carrying 200 vehicles per day will experience the loss of 200 tons of aggregate per mile each year.
A road surface that remains tightly bound and stable will require much less blade maintenance. We highly recommend that the surface should not be bladed at all after our product is applied. While extra blading, shaping and mixing is needed to prepare a road for dust control, the overall need for blade maintenance will be greatly reduced, resulting in a great savings in equipment expense and labor.
Application Process
Our product is sprayed on hot, which ensures maximum surface penetration and creates a thick asphalt-like surface. This protective coating not only controls dust, but also stabilizes the road material so grading is required less frequently. This "bond" also reduces the pulverization of the road therefore reducing the need for additional loads of gravel each year.
Unlike our competitors, our product will not evaporate nor become saturated and will require no regular maintenance. For best results GreenBond should be applied yearly. Road preparation is simple, excess gravel needs to be removed and road crowned.
